Gouache Landscape Painting form Photographs
Gouache is a type of paint made from pigments bound in a water-soluble gum similar to watercolor but has a white pigment in order to make it opaque. In this class learn how to quickly paint landscapes from photographs using gouache. Landscape painter Cliff Austin will guide students in how to recognize value and shape in painting colorful, expressive landscapes and cover how to paint from light to dark and how to apply and paint the background to the foreground. Students will practice shapes, value, and color as they paint landscapes from their own photo references. Class will take place January 22 through March 11.
