The 7th Annual EPIC Diabetes Conference

This annual educational conference is for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, their caregivers, and healthcare providers. EPIC features a new format this year that prioritizes community connections. Diabetes specialists and Colorado’s top endocrinologists will be stationed in each room to provide brief presentations, answer questions, and form meaningful relationships with people living with diabetes and their caregivers. The open format also encourages peer-to-peer connections for attendees to continue building a strong diabetes support network. Between 300 and 400 participants are expected to attend from across the Denver and Rocky Mountain regions, including Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. Early registration is open now for $10 per person or $30 for a family of four. On May 28th, registration increases to $15 per person, and all EPIC registrants will receive a $10 King Soopers gift card regardless of when they purchase. Tickets include a world-class education from top specialists, a boxed lunch, and numerous opportunities to connect with industry representatives and others affected by diabetes in person. Workshop and panel topics include prevention and delay of type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology updates, use of adjunctive therapies and obesity medication in diabetes, novel and upcoming insulins, and more. By learning about the latest and upcoming diabetes care, patients can better determine a management pathway that meets their individual care demands. Feedback from previous EPIC conference participants: “I loved the speakers and hearing what they had to say about diabetes. This was my first conference, and I had such a positive experience that I will return every year!” “The speakers were very knowledgeable and professional but also open and positive. They were genuinely interested in our questions.” “My favorite part was just the environment that I was in. I felt like, for a few hours, the whole world was centered around me and my illness. I never felt out of place or a burden, and even my non-diabetic family felt included and heard.” “It was awesome sharing and hearing each other’s stories and giving advice and encouragement to hopefully help each other that are living with diabetes of any type.” About the Children’s Diabetes Foundation: The Children’s Diabetes Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, focusing on patient support, diabetes research, and public awareness. The Children’s Diabetes Foundation, located in Aurora, was established by Barbara and Marvin Davis in 1977 after their daughter, Dana, developed diabetes at the age of seven. The non-profit organization is dedicated solely to the support of diabetes research and to providing the best possible clinical and educational programs for people with the disease. The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to support the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes and its world-renowned research programs, where thousands of patients with type 1 diabetes, children and adults alike, receive the finest diabetes care available.
