Adventure Day at Colorado Railroad Museum, August 24th
Experience a Colorado adventure and explore railroad history at the Colorado Railroad Museum! Take a train ride pulled by a powerful diesel engine inside and learn about safety around railroads with Operation Lifesaver. Hone your model railroading skills with the Denver Garden Railway Society and the Denver HO Model Railroad Club. Marvel at the monstrous size of a Tunnel Motor diesel locomotive, experience what it was like to build part of a railroad track and test your strength spinning a 55-ton turntable.
For scouts, this is a perfect opportunity to work toward earning your Railroading Merit Badge. Scouts wearing their uniforms will receive a special discount. Activities and train rides take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., while the Museum grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance tickets are recommended, especially if you have a specific train ride time in mind.
