Music and Art: A Symphonic Exploration – Reception and Concert
Powerful and awesome – massive areas of color – jagged, flame-like shapes – strange shadows, echoes: these are our experiences of Clyfford Still’s paintings. What might that experience become when translated into music?
Join the Clyfford Still Museum and the Colorado Symphony for an evening of symphonic exploration featuring the premiere of composer James Clarke’s specially commissioned symphonic work inspired by the art of Clyfford Still. Conductor Jason Seber guides you through this evening’s program, which includes additional contemporary works.
Before the performance, enjoy a private reception with drinks and light hors d’oeuvres. Mingle with other art and music lovers and meet composer James Clarke. His new work for the Colorado Symphony is a “kindred spirit” with Clyfford Still’s art – a meeting of minds as two art forms explode together.
