Two junior roller derby team: Major Turbulence and Minor Turbulence
A men’s team: Ground Control
Originally launched in 2005, DRD was formed by driven, athletic women looking to take part in the revival of an exciting sport with a storied history. Roller derby has undergone many changes since the term was first used in the 1920s. For most of its history, both men and women competed in the sport; however, with the revival of roller derby in the early 2000s, there was immense popularity with female athletes and teams. Since then, the sport’s popularity has grown, attracting all genders and age groups.
