Kim Robards Dance Presents "Emanate"
Kim Robards Dance, Colorado’s leading dynamic modern dance company, is partnering with the Western Slope’s
premiere professional ballet company Colorado West Performing Arts Company and the state’s expert One World Taiko
Japanese drummers to present “Emanate”. The 25 artists of these three incredible cultural companies will engage
audiences with two powerful performances on Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 14 at 3:00 PM at The KRD
Venue in Denver.
“Emanate” features critically acclaimed original masterworks of Artistic Director Kim Robards. Her newest work
“Inmigracion” takes audience on a trek through migrants’ journeys leaving home to seek new opportunities. “Agony of
the Leaf” a potent work from KRD’s repertoire is a response to the student revolt in 1989 in Tiananmen square focusing
on the human side of this world changing event. The virtuoso “d’ Affair Soi Meme” explores Mind, Ego and Heart
through a technically challenging and emotionally rich male solo. Impactful duet “Moiety”, meaning half or not quite
whole, embraces the changing dynamics of relationships wherein each part of one’s “self” may at times complete the
“other”, or strive to make us whole. “Emanate” culminates with the featured Robards’ signature work, “Cascades”,
performed in Beijing, China, in 2008 coinciding with The Olympics at “Booking Dance Festival”, performed now by guest
professional company Colorado West Performing Arts Company.
“Emanate” is presented at The KRD Venue, 1755 West 48th Avenue, Denver, in the historic Chaffee Park neighborhood
on Denver’s vibrant Northside. Seeing this peerless venue alone is worth the ticket price. “Emanate” is sponsored in part
