Community Winter Gear Sale at Backcountry Film Festival
Join us for our Community Winter Gear Sale from 5-7pm where you can sell your gently used winter sports equipment, purchase pre-loved gear from other outdoor enthusiasts, and get exclusive deals on new gear from Out and Back. Gear experts from Out and Back will evaluate and price your items on-site. $10 for just the Community Gear Sale with drinks and snacks or for $25 you can also enjoy the Backcountry Film Festival along with prize drawings from 7-9pm.
Important Note: CMC will not accept/store gear prior to the event. Gear must be in good working condition and clean. CMC staff will not evaluate the value of the gear. No negotiating price. Any gear not sold at the event must be taken home by the owner within 24 hours. All proceeds will go to Out and Back.
Accepted Gear:
• Hard gear maximum 5 years old: Skis, snowboards, boots, poles, and snowshoes.
• Winter outerwear: Goggles, tech shells, coats, bibs/snowpants, etc.
• Mountaineering boots.
• Winter Camping Gear: Tents and sleeping bags.
Items NOT Accepted:
• Summer / Non-Winter Sports Gear: Summer hiking boots or trail shoes, bicycles, bike parts, or helmets, kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, or paddling gear, and fishing or hunting equipment.
• Apparel Not Designed for Winter Conditions: Casual or street clothing (jeans, sweaters, fashion coats), non-technical jackets, cotton layers or lifestyle wear, and regular gloves or hats (non-technical).
• Used Safety or Personal Gear: Used avalanche airbags or beacons (unless verified functional), damaged or expired helmets, used climbing ropes, harnesses, or slings (for liability reasons), and used first aid kits or personal protective gear.
• Random or Unrelated Items: Books, DVDs, or maps, home exercise equipment, and tools or hardware not related to mountaineering.
