As Dallas prepares to serve as one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, this symposium will examine the global, local, and diplomatic implications of hosting one of the most significant sporting events in the world. The program will analyze how the World Cup can generate economic opportunities, civic and cultural pride, and foster international collaboration.

• Monica Paul is executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission and played a crucial role in securing Dallas as a host city for the FIFA World Cup.
• Sergio Arturo Bernal Hernández is a former Mexican soccer player widely recognized for his career as goalkeeper for Club Universidad Nacional, known as Pumas UNAM.
