SACRAMENTO, CA (UBO ENT) - May 21, 2025 - Pet owners in The Colony, Texas, will soon have a new destination for all of their boarding, doggy day care needs, grooming, as well as a complete line of retail dog products. The Dog Stop, a leading franchise, announces the grand opening of its newest location on July 12, 2025, under the new ownership of Brian Kuennen, Dennis and Rebecca Hill, and Ben Hill.
New owners, Mr. Brian Kuennen, Mr. Dennis B. & Mrs. Rebecca Hill and their son, Mr. Ben Hill have acquired The Dog Stop, The Colony, TX, located at 5000 Main St., Suite 25. They are committed to upholding the principles established by the founders of The Dog Stop, Mr. Jesse Coslov and Mr. Chris Kane in 2009. The franchise, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA grew from the founders’ shared passion for their dogs and business expertise.
The Dog Stop offers comprehensive pet services, including dog daycare with structured activities such as games and puzzle time and where pets can enjoy a lunch break offering a full Dog Stop Delights menu. They also provide grooming, boarding, and will eventually have dog training. Their retail section features a wide selection of pet food, health products, toys and accessories for dogs.
The Dog Stop's staff adhere to the quality standards set forth by the American Association of Canine Pack Handlers (AACPH) with training through Fear Free Pets. All handlers undergo rigorous testing to ensure proficiency in dog behavior and proactive management.
The Dog Stop is designed with multiple spacious playrooms, allowing staff to separate dogs by size, temperament and activity level. These play areas include interactive elements to keep pets engaged. Outdoor play areas are equipped with turf flooring, providing a comfortable, grass-like surface that's gentler on dogs' joints and paws. The facility also uses plexiglass kennels and secure retaining areas to ensure a safe and stress-free environment for all pet guests. All dog play and kennel areas contain public access video coverage so clients can monitor their dog from afar.
