This captivating triple bill features Swan Lake Act 2 alongside works by acclaimed choreographers Paul Mejia, Katie Puder and Christopher Wheeldon, bringing together classical and contemporary works centered on the many dimensions of love.
Perhaps the best-known classical ballet of all time, Swan Lake premiered more than a century ago in Russia and remains timeless for its extraordinary expression of human emotion through dance and Tchaikovsky’s luminous score.
In Swan Lake Act 2, audiences are transported to the moonlit lakeside where Prince Siegfried encounters Odette, a princess transformed into a swan by an evil curse. Their meeting begins one of ballet’s most enduring stories of love, longing and heartbreak.
Poetic and deeply moving, the work resonates with both melancholy and hope. This breathtaking production is staged by Avant Chamber Ballet Artistic Director Katie Puder from the original choreography and performed with live orchestra conducted by Brad Cawyer, allowing Tchaikovsky’s iconic music and the movement onstage to come together in a powerful theatrical experience.
