Frontiers of Flight Museum 17th Annual Moon Day

It’s time to celebrate one of humanity’s greatest achievements! In honor of the 56th Anniversary of National Moon Day, the Frontiers of Flight Museum proudly presents its 17th Annual Moon Day event, happening Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Get ready for a full day of interactive space exploration, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities, and awe-inspiring exhibits. This year’s event will feature a keynote presentation by retired NASA astronaut and U.S. Air Force Colonel Carl E. Walz, who has spent over 231 days in space across four space shuttle missions. Moon Day is a public event that focuses on STEM and Aerospace, and space-themed activities, panels, and displays for the young, young at heart, and avid aviation aficionados. The panel discussion, “Generation Space: The Future is Now”, will include a lesson on Apollo and Moon Phases, activities on how to take your own awesome pictures of the moon, and a rover driving contest. The Museum will also have Ruthie’s, Easy Slider, and Kona Ice food trucks for guests to purchase food during the event. While enjoying the many Moon Day festivities, families are encouraged to explore the rich diversity of aviation and flight history throughout the two-level 100,000-square-foot space. In addition, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can earn badges, and K-12 Educators can earn CPE credits while attending the Moon Day event. Tickets for the highly anticipated signature 17th Annual Moon Day event are on sale now on the Frontiers of Flight Museum’s website. Tickets to attend are $15 for children and $20 for adults, and are free for children two years of age and younger.
