The history behind a salon gallery wall can be traced back to the French Salons of the late 17th century. The term "salon" originally referred to gatherings held in the homes of the French aristocracy where intellectuals, artists, and thinkers would come together for discussions and cultural exchange. In the 17th century, these gatherings evolved into formal exhibitions organized by the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.
