Summer Open Studios at Art on Main Saturday, June 27, 2026 | 11 AM – 5 PM Art on Main 4428 Main Street, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75226 Join us for a day of art, creativity, and community at Art on Main's annual Summer Open Studios. Spend the day exploring one of East Dallas' most vibrant creative communities as artists open their studio doors and invite visitors behind the scenes. Meet the artists, tour working studios, discover original artwork, and learn more about the creative processes that bring each piece to life. Throughout the day, guests can browse and purchase artwork, connect directly with artists, and experience a variety of special exhibitions, demonstrations, and interactive activities. Featured Exhibition Kathy Krismer: Solo Exhibition Experience the vibrant abstract paintings of Kathy Krismer, whose work explores movement, emotion, and connection through expressive mark-making, layered color, and intuitive compositions. Visitors can also explore Beyond the Canvas, Krismer's collection of one-of-a-kind wearable artworks created from thrifted and repurposed garments and accessories. Carrying the spirit of her paintings into everyday life, these unique works blur the line between art, fashion, and personal expression. Closing Reception: noon–2:00 PM Meet Kathy Krismer and celebrate the final day of her exhibition. Special Exhibition MODIFIED: An Altered Art Exhibit Presented by the Slant Artist Collective Explore a thought-provoking collection of altered and mixed-media artworks that celebrate transformation, reinvention, and creative experimentation. Featured artists include Rita Barnard, Sheila Cunningham, Jacque Forsher, Karen Jacobi, Laurie Mahoney, Susan Swaim, and VET. Reception: 3:00–5:00 PM in Studio O Special Activities Live Pottery Demonstrations & Kiln Christening Visit Studio C to watch artist Katrina Rasmussen create pottery on the wheel and celebrate the first firings of her new kiln. Pottery Demonstrations: 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM Kiln Christening at noon Live Portrait Demonstrations In the afternoon, artist Pam-ela Harrelson (Studio J) will be demonstrating her pastel and charcoal portrait techniques throughout the day. Portrait sittings will also be available for purchase. Summer Community Canvas Help create a collaborative work of art by adding your own creative touch to our summer-themed community canvas.
