A CT scan snaps images of the heart and lungs to help determine the presence of coronary calcification or lung cancer
-
The low-dose 3D CT scan takes about 10 minutes and includes a coronary calcium score (which can help predict future heart attacks), a comprehensive report, and a review of the chest images by a radiologist. The report will be sent to the patient or upon request, be sent to their physician.
-
The high resolution 3D CT lung scan can help find problems such as infection, lung cancer, blocked blood flow in the lung (pulmonary embolism), and other lung problems. The scan gives more detailed images of the lungs than a chest x-ray, helps detect cancer and is able to show if a tumor has spread to the lymph nodes surrounding the lungs.
-
The high resolution 3D CT heart scan shows even the smallest coronary calcification in the heart, helping to prevent heart disease.
Married or cohabiting couples are required to attend consultation together for family-making decisions and family medical history information.
