- Tape-In Hair Extensions: A stylist uses a special tool to heat up professional glue and align the extensions. The treatment takes between 40–60 minutes and the effects usually last 4–8 weeks—after that time, the extensions can be removed and reinstalled.
- Microbead Hair Extensions: A stylist attaches small wefts of hair to tiny sections of one’s natural hair using a small silicone-lined bead. Then, they use a special tool to secure and tighten the bead. The procedure takes approximately 2–4 hours. Generally considered semi-permanent, the extensions usually last up to 4 months.
