Songs of the Soul - Poetry and Sacred Music Festival


On Saturday, June 8, 2024 The International Association of Sufism (IAS) is presenting a one-day Songs of the Soul-Poetry & Sacred Music Festival at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon. Songs of the Soul will present a diverse group of critically acclaimed artist's who have performed both locally and internationally. This Event will bring the community together in a celebration of the universal beauty of poetry, music and dance. Songs of the Soul presenters include: Sara Moncada and Eddie Madril, Sewam Native American Indian Dance, presenting traditional songs and hoop dance - Francesca Bell, Marin County Poet Laureate, 2023 - 2024, a poet and translator - Taneen Sufi Music Ensemble, presenting Sufi poetry accompanied by original music springing from meditation and prayer. - Tamam Kahn and Pir Shabda Kahn, Sufi poetry and music - Riffat Sultana, representing eleven generations of master vocalists from India and Pakistan, master of Qawwali, accompanied by Richard Michos and Rami Ziadeh - George Lammam, Lebanese musician and solo violinist who is bringing Arabic arts and cultural heritage to the fore - Avay-iJanaan, International and intergenerational poetry slam and music collective, originating though the echoes of the Unseen.
