Japanese Sword Dance Performance "Tsurugi Matsuri -Demon's Lullaby"
“Tsurugi Matsuri, Demon’s Lullaby” is the first performance in the Bay Area by the Japanese professional sword dance performance team Tsukigumi.
The performance is dynamic, with a unique script based on the Japanese folk tale “Momotaro, the Peach Boy.”
Brilliant sword dance is showcased with a demon motif that is popular in Japanese anime etc.
About the show
The professional “Ken-bu” sword dance performing team Tsukigumi was formed specifically for coming the United States. This show tells a story, which is familiar to children, along with Japanese traditional “Ken-jutsu” swordsmanship.
For this family friendly show, the script “Oni no Komori Uta - Demon’s Lullaby” was written based on the famous Japanese folk tale “Momotaro”. It is a lively story with a motif of demons, which is popular in Japanese anime etc. It is enjoyable for all ages.
Team Tsukigumi’s dream is to share Japanese culture with as many people as possible in the world and to make them happy. The actors visit the United States on their own expense this time for their very first performance in the Bay Area. Sakura Gakuen would like to support their ambition and to make their dream come true by having a large audience from both inside and outside of Sakura Gakuen participate in this event.
The show will be performed in Japanese, but anybody can fully enjoy the performance even for those who do not understand the language.
This show with brilliant action will lead you to the world of Ken-bu.
