Otonowa blends Jazz & traditional Japanese melodies and will be joined by special guest Taiko Drum Master Jimi Nakagawa
The genesis of Otonowa, or Sound Circle, comes from the title of their 2015 recording simultaneously released in Japan on King Records and in the US on Evidence Music. Japanese Americans and Japanese musicians as global citizens together expand the Jazz genre vocabulary...blending jazz compositions with traditional Japanese centuries-old folk melodies & pop tunes.
