Grammy Award-winning artist and international music legend Sergio Mendes will take the stage to perform his timeless hits and showcase the evolution of his sound over his sixty years of musical performance.
Sergio Mendes, Brazilian musician and composer with a career spanning over six decades, has recorded more than 35 albums, and is a three-time Grammy Award winner and Oscar-nominated songwriter. His innovative blend of bossa nova, samba, and pop music has made him a global icon.
Mendes’ career jump started with worldwide hits by his band Brasil '66. Known for hits like “The Look of Love“ which hit #4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1968, ”Scarborough Fair”, and “Mas que Nada” which was inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2013. The Brazilian legend’s 2020 album In the Key of Joy, melds the classic Brazilian, jazz, and pop sounds that have long characterized Mendes’ music, with stunningly contemporary inspirations that make the album sound both timeless and of the moment. The album was released to coincide with the documentary on his life, Sergio Mendes: In The Key of Joy, by acclaimed filmmaker John Scheinfeld.
