NVC Visual Arts is pleased to announce that NVC alum and Bay Area artist, Arleene Correa Valencia will be giving a talk on the intersection of her art and identity, Wednesday, May 1 at 6:00 pm, Room 3706.
Hypervisible: Finding Home
Arleene Correa Valencia attended Napa Valley College (2011-2014) and went on to receive her BFA and MFA from California College of the Arts. One of four children originally from Arteaga, Michoacán, Mexico, her family fled to the United States in 1997 and found home in California’s Napa Valley. Correa Valencia is a beneficiary of DACA (Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals) and is on a path to becoming a naturalized citizen of the United States. Correa Valencia is currently represented by Catharine Clark Gallery in San Francisco since 2022.
