Photographer Aileen Savage to speak at the Napa Valley Photographic Society April Meeting

Born and raised in Napa, Aileen signed up for her first photography class as a senior at Justin Siena High School where she discovered her love for her first SLR camera, black & white photos and the dark room process. She received her first ever photography award, but thought her camera would remain just a hobby and entered college with the goal of becoming an architect.  Little did she know though that life had another plan for her and she lost her only brother in a car accident her first semester away at college. This led Aileen to appreciate her photos of him that much more. Eventually though, she got her degree in Psychology and played the "safe" job route until she then lost her Dad suddenly and felt called to pursue her love (and his love) for both country music and photography and started a website called NorCal Country where she promoted country music events all over Northern CA while taking photos at the concerts she attended. That's where her photography got taken more seriously and she saw what a camera really can do profession-wise.  When that fun job ended, she moved back to Napa and was asked by friends and family to shoot their weddings and family photos. She never set out to do photography as a career, but it gradually grew on its own and she has been doing it full-time for 10 years now, specializing in newborn and family photography.  In 2020, she received the Bohemian - Best of the North Bay - for Photography Services award; and in 2022, she was voted Napa Valley's Finest for the Photographer category.  You can also see her landscapes hanging on the walls of Brewed coffee shop in Napa and Cafe Della Valle in St. Helena.  Napa Valley Photographic Society (NVPS) promotes the art and science of photography, providing education, image appreciation, inspiration, exchange of technologies.
