Livermore Indivisible on Gas to Electric Home Upgrade: Climate Actions

Our focus of the meeting is electrification of our home and how we can reduce our own carbon footprint (and get paid to do it!).
First, we will hear from the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN.org) Outreach Representative, Chris Hunter, who will talk about new technology to electrificate our homes (heat pump and induction technology), including rebates that may apply. Chris will provide an induction stovetop demo. So, if you are interested in replacing your gas stovetop with induction, please join us in person to get an up-close look at that technology.
Next, Alex DiGiorgio, the Public Engagement Manager at East Bay Community Energy (EBCE.org) will join us remotely about EBCE's progress on renewable energy development and its 100% renewable program, as well as its legislative work. EBCE is purchasing electricity on our behalf in Alameda County and Tracy. Some of us spent lots of time and effort to create this joint power authority to purchase electricity for us instead of PG&E. The goal was to transit to the renewable energy faster with reasonable price. If there is any profit it is to go back to our communities. Did it work? It is time to check on them.
