Call for Writers and Artists: Art Embraces Words Halloween Program Oct. 26

Art Embraces Words is an ongoing program presented by the Lamorinda Arts Council now in it's fifth year. It features emerging writers and artists. Writer presenters alternate with artist presenters; a short Q&A follows each presentation. It is not necessary to be a published author to participate. The Halloween Theme can be dark forests, scary dream-like sleepwalking, whispered secrets from ghostly voices. Featured sci-fi writer Marlene Dotterer of the California Writers Club Mt. Diablo Branch kicks off the day. The event is held Sat. October 26 and all guests and presenters are invited to appear as their favorite literary or artistic character. After the presentations, Judges from the Orinda Starlight Village Players view the costumes on the adjacent outdoot patio and award the prizes. A light refreshments are served at the outdoor reception. Media table provided for selling books and information about artwork. The program is held in the Arts & Science Room at the Lafayette Library & Learning Cener, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette CA 94549. The Community Foundation of Lafayette funds this program.
