The Lamorinda Arts Council invites lovers of the spoken word and visual art to its free July 12 program at the Lafayette Library Arts & Science Room from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. The program alternates presentations from six writers from Benicia – Deborah Fruchey, Marty Malin, Karen Mercury, Gregory Montoya, Aletheia Morden and Jim White – with two artists, Jamie Harrison of Hayward and Michelle Naylor-Cho of Oakland.
Emcee Linda Hartmann, co-chair and VP of California Writers Club, Mt. Diablo Branch, introduces each presenter. All six writers reads a selection from their work; the two artists present and speak about their original artwork on display. A short audience Q&A follows each presentation.
A courtyard reception follows at 3:30 p.m. with light refreshments. To help the Lamorinda Arts Council celebrate its 75th Anniversary, enjoy a complimentary wine tasting by Susan Captain of Captain Vineyards. Generously funded by the Community Foundation of Lafayette. https://lamorindaarts.org/art-embraces-words
