This year’s MIHPF Founder’s Day Festival will let you step back in time as we celebrate 170 years of Mare Island's rich history. On this day in 1865, Captain David Farragut arrived to take command of what was then a barren island in order to build a shipyard. Entry is free, with a wide range of paid activities to keep the whole family entertained. Visit the kid’s area with a bounce house, face painting, art projects, and more.
