Bastille Day at Folklore - Café Society book event with Joanie Osburn
Celebrate Bastille Day, July 14th 2-4pm at Folklore, Napa
Folklore will be hosting a Book signing for “Café Society: Time Suspended, the Cafés and Bistros of Paris”, the award-winning book by Joanie Osburn, who many of us revere from her time owning the much beloved Café Society which was located on Main Street in downtown Napa.
Café Society, the book, celebrates the beauty, history and culture of the cafés of Paris.
About the Book: Close your eyes. Picture yourself sitting in one of the iconic cafés in Paris, watching the street scene while sipping your cappuccino and enjoying the hum and energy of the city around you...Although an award-winning artist with showings in numerous art galleries around the country, Osburn's special and evocative book has captured our imagination. Osburn has lived and worked in Paris, and the café and bistro scene has become a part of her very being. In fact, it is a part of the French cultural heritage that is worth preserving for future generations, and Osburn describes it to perfection.
Steve Ventrello will be playing French tunes while Joanie is signing her books and regaling her Paris experiences amongst our visitors on this day....
Café Society was where Steve's first public performances in Napa took place.
