This observation directed me to study more about Biophilia, which is defined as the innate human instinct to connect with nature and other living beings. I am drawn to interpret this personal connection to nature in an abstract format and discover new ways to let it play out in my work. I have a deep commitment to painting, which has taught me the importance of exploration and to value the many lessons along the way. Because of my background in commercial interiors, ergonomic product design, and residential remodeling I am able to visualize meaningful design. In addition, working in interior design has shown me the impact of artwork in our built environments. This may be why I have an attraction to working on larger canvases that powerfully influence a space. A well-designed room is balanced with color, texture and pattern, which is also how I look at a finished painting. _____________________________________________ WENDY WALTER - My current artistic expression in painting represents the culmination of my diverse life experiences. This journey has taken me from studying at the American Academy of Artto traveling across Europe, Mexico, and the Far East. Additionally, my professional endeavors as a stylist in the film and print industries, alongside my work as an interiordesigner, have profoundly influenced my creative vision. At the heart of my work lies a deep-seated fascination with beauty and the patterns ofnature. I am constantly inspired by the world around us. Art is more than just a medium for self-expression; for me it’s a way of seeing natureand how it relates to our daily lives and experiences along with it’s universal appeal andway of connecting with others on a deep personal and meaningful level.
