The Glory & Grandeur of Beethoven
On Saturday, March 2 at 7:30pm in the Empress Theatre, the Vallejo Festival Orchestra will present three of Beethoven’s ingenious overtures, Coriolan, Prometheus and Egmont overtures, each showcasing Beethoven’s ability to convey profound emotion and thematic richness. Coriolan's intense and dramatic character sets the stage, followed by Prometheus, where Beethoven's inventive spirit takes flight. The Egmont Overture, with its stirring patriotism, adds a touch of heroism to the repertoire.
The symphony that follows, Beethoven’s Third Symphony Eroica (“Heroic”) presents Beethoven's revolutionary genius in full force. This is an opportunity for those who appreciate the depth and nuance of Beethoven's work to come together, support the arts, and revel in the timeless beauty of classical music.
