Clothing and Textile Drive to Benefit Water for South Sudan at East Avenue Middle School

Bring your CLEAN items to East Avenue Middle School anytime from Monday March 6th through Friday March 10th. Student volunteers will be in the drop-off circle in the mornings to collect your donations, and there will be donation boxes outside the MPR. Community members can bring donations to the school office anytime during school hours. Items that can be donated (in reusable condition OR stained/worn/damaged): Clothing Undergarments and Socks Shoes Linens (towels, sheets, blankets etc), Accessories (handbags/backpacks, belts, hats) Stuffed animals and pillows **NO WET/MOLDY ITEMS and NO HAZARDOUS/BIO WASTE** EkoLinq promotes sustainability through clothing reuse and recycling (if damaged). Each pound of textiles collected will raise money for Water for South Sudan, a non-profit company helping drive progress in South Sudan through well drilling, well rehabilitation, sanitation, and hygiene education. Our students were inspired to help after reading the book A Long Walk to Water, the story of Lost Boy Salva Dut. Salva started his organization Water for South Sudan after moving from a refugee camp in Kenya to his new home in Rochester, New York. To make a monetary donation, visit out event Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/donate/1398212087591073/ To learn more about EkoLinq, go to www.ekolinq.com.
