Cruising Down Memory Lane

Wonder what the Tri-Valley was like in the past? STEP BACK IN TIME WITH THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED IT! This is a panel discussion sponsored by the Dublin Historical Society, Dublin Historian Steve Minniear and local author Donna Kamp McMillion. You will hear from the life long Tri-Valley residents: Lynn Moller Skarratt, whose family settled on Foothill Road when it was considered part of Dublin. As a youngster, she attended the Murray School, which is now preserved at the Heritage Center. Tim Koopmann’s six-generation ranching family first bought farmland in the 1890s on the site where San Ramon Village was built in the 1960s. Their house was where Shannon Park is today. Tony Fisher’s father was a highway patrol officer, who knew the Highway 50 area well before 1953 when he decided to settle his family in the Valley and open up Fisher’s Drive Inn. Fisher’s was THE place to go for the Dublin and Pleasanton students attending Amador High School. Donna Kamp McMillion will monitor the panel. Her ranching family herded cattle and had round ups near Dougherty Road. Her father also served in the military in WWII and his young family lived in officer’s housing at Camp Parks.
