Music in the Vineyards
Come hear the 2025 Music in the Vineyards Fellowship String Quartet perform music by Beethoven, Schumann, and more. These incredibly talented young musicians, the Pavone Quartet, are students at Rice University’s prestigious Shepherd School of Music and were chosen through a national audition to be part of this year’s festival. It’s a chance to catch some of the brightest rising stars in classical music before they hit the big stage. Formed in 2023 by four good friends, the Pavone Quartet has enjoyed coaching by some of classical music's most acclaimed teachers and performers. This year they were honored to perform at Chamber Music America's 48th annual conference in Houston, Texas.
2025 is the eighth year of Music in the Vineyards' Fellowship String Quartet Program, designed to identify and nurture an emerging pre-professional ensemble. Applicants from musicians in the top US conservatories participate in a national audition to win this coveted spot and receive invaluable coaching and performances opportunities alongside the Festival's seasoned professional musicians. The Fellowship String Quartet Program has also built meaningful partnerships with diverse audience in Napa Valley by offering free workshops and concerts for audiences of all ages and walks of life. Filling a vital role in the community, the Fellowship String Quartet performs at many retirement homes, assisted living facilities and Boys and Girls Clubs. They bring much-loved music to residents who otherwise may not be able to attend a concert and introduce young children to instruments, igniting their curiosity and fostering a love of music.
