Alameda County bears the emotional and physical scars of years of racial segregation of our neighborhoods. Join us for this important presentation exploring the impacts of community segregation, what that means for us today, and how we can begin to undo it for a more hopeful future.

Presenters:
Aisha Knowles is the Public Affairs Manager and Public Information Officer for the Fremont Fire Department and has served in numerous community leadership positions throughout Alameda County. Aisha is the producer of The Apology, the acclaimed documentary about the forced relocation of Russell City residents.
Stephen Menendian is the Assistant Director and Director of Research at the Othering & Belonging Institute. Stephen is the author of many scholarly publications and journal articles, including Structural Racism the Dynamics of Opportunity and Race in America.
Leah Rothstein serves as a consultant to affordable housing developers and local governments and as a community and union organizer. Leah is the co-author of Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law.
