Stephen Waarts, violin/piano, Nov 18, Bankhead
Del Valle Fine Arts presents Stephen Waarts, violin, with Albert Cano Smit, piano, at the Bankhead Theater on Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 pm. Violinist Stephen Waarts, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, has performed frequently with top European and American orchestras and as a recitalist. Recent honors include the Lucerne Symphony Classical Music Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and the 2014 First Prize, senior division, Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists. Accompanying him will be Albert Cano Smit, 2017 First Prize winner of the Walter W. Naumburg Piano Competition. Their lyrical, largely French-oriented concert will include works by Ravel, Stravinsky, Poulenc and others.
