Aznavoorian Sisters, cello/piano, FREE Youth
The sisters will introduce us to music from their ethnic Armenian background with additional works by Debussy, de Falla, Brahms, and Paganini. Ani (cello) and Marta (piano) received First Prize in the Illinois Bell Young Performers Competition. Winners of the National Foundation for the Arts Award, they were named Presidential Scholars in the Arts. Ani won First Prize in Juilliard’s Concerto Competition and is on the music faculty of the University of Illinois. Marta, a Steinway Artist, has been nominated for a Grammy Award and first prize in the Stravinsky International Competition.
Tickets begin at $35. Students under 18 are free (an accompanying adult is $20 when obtained at the box office) and college student tickets are $16. Complimentary after-concert reception.
