The Castro Valley community is invited to a special Black History Month celebration hosted at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This event will highlight the often-overlooked history and contributions of Black cowboys and cowgirls in the American West, connecting themes of faith, heritage, perseverance, and community.
The evening will include a historical presentation, music, line dancing, fellowship, and a shared meal featuring soul food. The event is designed to be welcoming, educational, and family-friendly, bringing together neighbors of all backgrounds to learn, celebrate, and build unity.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomes the broader Castro Valley community to join in recognizing African American history and honoring the diverse stories that shape our shared past.
Western or African attire is encouraged but not required.
All are welcome.
