From Hysteria to Health: A Talk with Carol Queen

For Sexual Health Awareness Month, join author and educator Carol Queen, PhD, for a lively look at the unexpected history of the vibrator. Once used by doctors to treat “hysteria,” these devices tell a fascinating story about changing ideas of health and sexuality. This talk will examine how this diagnosis was understood and treated, as well as how perspectives on sexual and overall health shifted throughout the 20th century.
