Adult Writing Workshop: Character in Memoir
One of the hardest parts of personal writing and memoir is thinking of the real people in your life as characters. But in the same way that novelists have to put in the work to create vivid characters for their stories, memoirists need to think about the backstories, quirks, faults, and flaws of the people they’re writing about. Together, we’ll explore fun ways to approach character development for the various people in your memoir, including astrology, enneagram, and Myers-Briggs personality types. Then we’ll delve deeper into character development, establishing motivations, goals, and voice to create well-rounded characters for your personal stories.
