Gay Fad Studios, the premier midcentury glassware company with a trailblazing legacy in Ohio’s Glass Town, is proud to announce its inaugural event, Bottoms Up. This three-day celebration honors Lancaster’s significant history as a major producer of midcentury glassware. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of midcentury design, craft cocktails, and barware culture. The show consists of 40 participating local businesses and 21 national vendors offer 50 activities and events, and 30 classes, spanning a 6-block downtown radius. Attend mixology sessions and learn how to create classic midcentury cocktails, mocktails, garnishes and bitters. Or take part in making/painting midcentury ceramics, creating fused glass coasters, or blowing glass stir sticks. Learn from experts as they share their knowledge on midcentury design, tiki, glassware trends, and the legacy of Gay Fad Studios, Anchor Hocking and Libbey. Special guest artist, Shag, to appear for signings, a presentation on his career, and for several pop-ups featuring his celebrated midcentury style. A special print has been created for the show. Several of his gallery pieces will be showcased at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio. Step into a tropical oasis inspired by Columbus’ own Kahiki. Featuring tiki drinks, decorations, music, and dancers. Applaud the antique cars as they stop into town Sunday afternoon as part of The Great Race event, expected to feature 200-300 antique cars. Dress to impress at an exclusive evening featuring craft cocktails, midcentury decorative art objects, and a couture fashion show.
