Art in Nature Workshop

Art in Nature Art Classes for Adults, at Deer Haven Park Classroom: 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware OH. Wednesday May 22nd or Thursday May 23rd, 5:00 - 6:30 pm. 
 This special artistic and educational opportunity will strengthen observational skills, expand knowledge about color, build permanent artistic abilities, and provide new perspectives. This course requires no previous experience, it focuses on boosting creativity and calming the mind, beneficial for anyone looking to expand innovation! The class will include work with pen, ink, and chalk pastels. Take a break from your week, and join Professor Dougherty for 90 minutes of expert instruction in a relaxed natural atmosphere. Each individual leaves with multiple UNIQUE artworks, the ability to create new works independently, and possibly new friends! Classes are offered May 22nd and May 23rd, from 5:00pm-6:30 pm, for $40/person, all supplies included! Deer Haven park is a 97 acre park with forest, prairie and wetland habitats; with winding trails through mature woods to offer a variety of scenery to visitors. Deer Haven park is also home to the Amy Clark-Bader Bird Sanctuary, and its Nature Center (open noon-5pm). Park hours are 8am-9pm during summer months. Instructor Sammi Dougherty has a Masters of Fine Arts from Radford University with specializations in pastels and watercolors; and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University in two-dimensional studies. Professor Dougherty has been instructing art for over 15 years, and is currently teaching studio art and art history at Capital University. Her work has been internationally exhibited and awarded. Her portfolio work focuses on surreal landscapes, and utilizes watercolor with interaction from wildlife and precipitation. Class size is limited!
