Sow the Seeds for GGC Fundraiser

A 3-in-1 GGC Program!

1. Donate.
As a grassroots initiative of PACT, GGC cannot fulfill its goal of being a dynamic resource for the community without philanthropic investments from individuals, businesses and foundations. You can help by supporting Sow the Seeds for GGC -- giving what you can during online registration, or by making a donation in lieu of attendance. Every dollar counts! GGC needs to raise $18,500 for:
- Installation, maintenance and protection of infrastructure including a drip irrigation system for the 30 raised beds at Hildreth and a permanent storage unit at the Mamie Mack Community Garden location on Garfield Ave.
- Costs associated with growing and distributing thousands of pounds of produce on the Near East Side and funding multigenerational, culturally-relevant urban agriculture programming in 2022, including a friendly competition called Grow It and Grill It.
- Projected expenses for 2023. This way GGC is poised for future service and can plan ahead!

2. Walk and Serve.
Departing Broad Street Presbyterian Church promptly at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 7, join a 3.7 mile walking tour that will include brief stopping points at each GGC garden and litter removal en route.
Note 1: The Walk and Serve portion of the program is weather dependent. It will be canceled in the event of inclement circumstances. However, the reception will continue since it is indoors.
Note 2: All registrants will receive a map with the route to support alternative participation by those with various accessibility needs.

3. Celebrate in Community.
Rest and unwind following the Walk and Serve activity from about 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
Enjoy food, entertainment, a keynote address, and more back at Broad Street Presbyterian Church!
Note 3: Prevailing public health protocol will be followed for this indoor function.

Who We Are
We envision a positive relationship between Black, Indigenous and People of Color and the land.

We foster an empowering narrative about historically oppressed people's engagement in agriculture and land stewardship, while challenging systemic barriers through discourse.

Urban agriculture will be a multigenerational way of life in Columbus, Ohio and beyond.

We are collectively rooted through urban agriculture to help improve health outcomes, deepen community engagement and foster economic empowerment via social action in high-BIPOC neighborhoods.

GGC facilitates responsive, culturally-relevant and evidence-based programming around:

Agricultural Education in Cities
Food Access and Affordability
Comprehensive Health and Wellness
Equitable Community Development
GGC is an initiative of Partners Achieving Community Transformation/PACT (eastpact.org).
