For Immediate Release RE: 36th Annual Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchants’ Association Canoe and Kayak Race, Sunday, August 6, 2017 Upper Township Beach, Mosquito Landing Road, Tuckahoe, NJ 08270
The Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchants’ Association will host the 36thAnnual Canoe and Kayak Race to benefit the Merchants’ Scholarship Funds at the Upper Township Municipal Beach on Mosquito Landing Road in Tuckahoe, NJ.
The starting time for Canoes, Kayaks and Paddle Boards is 11:00 a.m. and the finish line is at the portion of the beach as marked. Awards will be given out in all racing Divisions.
A Poker Run for non-racers starts anytime between 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A $100 cash prize will be awarded for Best Hand in the Poker Run, starting at 1:00 pm. Other top hands will receive gift certificates and other prizes, while supplies last. The Poker Run involves paddling to several docks along the designated route to collect cards for your hand. It is currently our largest category, and is enjoyed by many family groups.

Entry fee is $15.00 per person if received by July 24, 2017. After July 24 and to the day of the event, the fee is $20.00 per person.
Tickets for the Kayak Raffle will be available for $1.00 each. This year’s Kayak is an Ocean Frenzy Kayak with Magic Paddle. Buy tickets prior to the event at Cody’s Power Equipment, Sturdy Savings Bank in Tuckahoe, Surran’s Nursery in Corbin City, or from any other member.
Food will be available.
Come and participate or bring your beach chair and enjoy a great time cheering on your favorite participant.
