A Holiday Art Stroll on two consecutive Saturdays and a Thursday evening, an evening which pays homage to how this Capital City tradition began... One night in November, over a decade ago, painters in communal studios on Carlisle Street adorned their canvases and gallery walls, invited friends & family to gather and neighborhood mantels were transformed overnight. Hence the lore of the Carlisle Street District began, a single block which has grown from three to eight creative small businesses. This year’s 3-day format adapts to Columbia residents and day-trippers alike by offering alternative shopping days and hours to fit into busy holiday and work schedules. “This year, original paintings by 40 Columbia artists may be explored on your tour of 8 participating businesses, which are 100% locally woman owned.
