This is a FREE event and will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Levi Chavous Conference and Banquet Center located at 5335 Ridgeway St., Columbia, SC 29203. We are concerned that the state of Shape Note and Jubilee singing, like many cultural traditions, is progressively fading from our structural legacy; slowly being shut down or phased out becoming a "dying art" because we as a cultural people have not embraced or promoted our legacy. The desire of this concert is to introduce to some and bring to the remembrance of others the hymnody and spiritual reperto...
