The newly chartered Cape Fear Young Marines unit is now accepting recruits for its Fall 2022 New Recruits Training. During the 26-hour training new recruits will learn close order drill movements, navigation skills, physical fitness, drug use prevention, first aid, and so much more. Fall 2022 enrollment lasts through September 17th and training starts September 24th. Enrollment can be completed online by clicking on the "Contact/Join Our Unit" button on the Cape Fear Young Marines webpage at https://youngmarines.org/unit/capefear/page. The Cape Fear Young Marines Unit Commander, Lieutenant Colonel (USAF-Ret) Dianne Jinwright is inviting interested parents and youth to attend an open house on September 10th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Young Marines' meeting place at 1308 S 16th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401. The Cape Fear Young Marines Unit is part of a national non-profit 501(c)(3) youth education and service program for boys and girls, age eight through high school. The Young Marines teaches youth the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, good citizenship, community service, and living a healthy, drug-free life.
