GemStreet USA Show brings global finds to the Midwest
GemStreet USA Show & Sale will bring some rare finds from around the globe to Northeast Ohio. At the three-day show, set for March 10-12 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, you will unearth a kaleidoscope of gems, jewelry, beads, fossils and minerals.
The show features fine jewelers, talented artists and knowledgeable collectors spanning from New York to Hawaii who search the world over for the earth's most cherished finds. Much of what you find at the show is handmade and all of the fossils and minerals are inherently one of a kind.
“We are inspired to create and share a connection that only something made by hand can make someone feel,” says jewelry designer Tamie Simpson, who own Many Hands Marketplace. “Every bead we sell tells a story—where it comes from, how it’s made, who made it.”
One of the dozens of exhibitors at the show, Many Hands Marketplace features jewelry components made from all over the world, which are fair trade and ethically sourced, from Kazuri hand-painted ceramic beads in Kenya, to metals sourced in Europe and the United States, to intricately designed clay beads made by women in Nepal.
Whether you create your own jewelry and are looking for findings or want unique finished jewelry that features a mix of stones and metals, you will find everything all under one roof.
One trend this spring is jewelry with a nod to nature. You will find bee-inspired jewelry, along with more minimalism when it comes to necklaces and earrings with one beautiful bead as the focal point.
Also at the show exhibiting nature’s beauty is Rock Addicts. Owners Cindy Addison and Deb Freeders just returned from the Tucson Gem Show, where thousands from around the globe descend to find rare and enchanting gems, minerals and fossils. They are bringing back stunning amethyst from Uruguay, Utah Septarian mined here in the United States, and Madagascar polished spheres, freeform pieces and towers in a rainbow of colors.
GemStreet USA takes place at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds at 19201 E. Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights. Show hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $6; free for children under 12. Ticket good for all three days. Discount coupons available at GemStreetUSA.com.
