Xavier University Senior Thesis Art Exhibition Opening
Xavier University and the Department of Art are pleased to present thesis exhibitions by three senior art majors – Andy Moore, Drawing; Caroline Palermo, Graphic Design; and Grant Stephenson, Graphic Design. The exhibitions will be on display January 19-February 9, 2024, in the Xavier University Art Galleries.
Andy Moore presents, Face Your Fears, an exhibition about confronting personal fears. Viewers are asked to face their fears with activities placed around the gallery to create artwork of their own while looking at the artwork placed onto the walls.
Caroline Palermo presents, It’s Just a Lifestyle, an exhibition that examines how the wellness industry has shaped and distorted the way health is viewed. She dismantles misconceptions surrounding wellness, challenges anti-fat culture, and critiques the normalization of diet culture through her work.
Grant Stephenson presents, The Whitetail Pursuit - a conceptual poster series reimagining four key art movements - the Victorian Era, Dadaism, Vintage Propaganda, and the Bauhaus Era. The series explores the cultural traditions, ecological benefits, and personal experiences tied to the pursuit of hunting whitetail deer. This visual collection spotlights conservationist principles of deer hunting.
