How is it for you to be present? To be in the moment, feeling settled, grounded, and clear, to be connected and engaged with yourself and where you are?
For many of us, it can feel challenging. And that makes sense. Our patterns and habits and beliefs are so intelligent, so protective, keeping us alive by having us operate from the past or have concern for the future.
What if we allow for this moment to feel safe enough that we can drop into it a little bit more? What if we work top down and bottoms up to resource ourselves enough to be present, not through forcing anything, but through shifting attention and engagement with safety that is already here? What might it be like to notice and engage more with this moment?
Somatic practices support nervous system regulation and invite you to tune in to your body and its innate rhythms and ability to orient toward health. Your system knows how to return to presence, and somatic practices can help with that remembering.
This experience will be one-hour of exploring our senses, our outer environment, and our inner landscape. We will create a safe space for being curious and letting ourselves follow our individual impulses. There may be gentle movement, there may be stillness, there may be stretching, there may be emoting, there may be a combination of them all. This experience is about seeing what we notice, what we feel, and what our system is asking for. This is a little vulnerable, a little playful, and maybe more than a little grounding and enlivening.
We will explore a foundational somatic practice of orienting, which is a tool and resource you can take with you for ongoing support. We will also briefly discuss some somatic principles and concepts of the nervous system. Together, we create a safe space to co-regulate and to learn about ourselves and each other.
