Dr. Mitchell Thomashow Keynote Lecture & Reception


The University of Cincinnati Center for Public Engagement with Science (PEWS) will be hosting a week of events focused on sustainability from January 29th to February 2nd, 2024. Dr. Mitchell Thomashow will give a keynote lecture, “The Future of Environmental Learning,” that addresses the skills, interpretive frameworks, and insights to implement and improve sustainability-related education and action in Cincinnati. This event is free and open to all! The keynote lecture will take place Thursday, February 1, in Probasco Auditorium (2839 Clifton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220). Please join us for a reception at 6pm prior to the start of the talk at 7pm. Dr. Thomashow will be introduced by Dr. Valerio Ferme, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Dr. Mitchell Thomashow is a leader in sustainability initiatives and environmental learning. He is a former president of Unity College in Maine where he promoted a sustainability agenda. He also has served as the Chair of the Environmental Studies program at Antioch University in New England and has been the Director of the Presidential Fellows Program at Second Nature. Dr. Thomashow works to promote ecological awareness, environmental learning, and improvisational thinking through writing, advising and teaching.
