On Edge Quilling (beginner to intermediate level)
“On edge” quilling creates a design by gluing paper strips on their edges rather than forming coils. This technique is used to create outlines, sharp angles, straight lines, or more geometric designs, in contrast to the smooth, circular shapes of traditional quilling. This technique is often combined with other traditional quilling methods to create more complex and visually dynamic pieces.
In this class, you will learn to create an on edge outline and fill it with a combination of shapes and colors to create a harmonious, visually engaging design. Your end product can be a greeting card or display piece. If time allows, you will be able to create a second piece. Attendees will leave with any leftover strips and the skills needed to create and make their own design at home.
Some familiarity with quilling or other paper art is helpful but not required.
Quilling strips, cardstock and glue will be provided at the time of the workshop. Participants will need to provide or purchase additional supplies.
