Combating Child Abuse, Neglect, and Trafficking: The Mission of Sunrise Children’s Services with Kevin Richardson

Join the Rotary Club of Florence, serving all of Boone County (@FlorenceRotary), on Monday, September 15th, 2025 at noon as we are honored to welcome Kevin Richardson, Senior Advancement Director for Sunrise Children’s Services and Pastor of Flagg Springs Baptist Church, as our featured speaker.
Kevin will address the ongoing crisis of child abuse and neglect across the Commonwealth, the added tragedy of child trafficking, and the growing financial costs associated with healing and restoring children who have endured trauma. He will also highlight the critical need for financial resources and foster parents and share how Sunrise Children’s Services is working to combat these systemic issues.
In addition, Kevin will present the strengths of Sunrise Children’s Services—a statewide ministry dedicated to offering hope and healing to Kentucky’s children in crisis.Kevin lives in Independence, Kentucky with his wife Marsha and son Lukas. A graduate of Western Kentucky University and Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, Kevin is committed to improving the lives of children across Northern Kentucky and the Commonwealth.
Alongside his leadership at Sunrise, Kevin serves as Pastor of Flagg Springs Baptist Church in California, Kentucky. He is also deeply engaged in the community, serving on the boards of multiple organizations including the Northern Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy and Baptist Life Communities. He is President-Elect of the Boone County Business Association and an active Ambassador with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Kevin is dedicated not only to caring for vulnerable children but also to sharing the Gospel and shepherding his congregation.
